Adopt Constitution
Constitution adopted by Members of the Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated.
Thursday, November 4th 1937, will go down as a great day in the history of Ethiopians in the Western Hemisphere. At closed meeting, at the Assembly Hall of the Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated, at 36 West 135th Street for the purpose of voting on the Constitution. The way in which it was accepted is a credit to the members and a sign that they are determined to make their organization a success.
The Constitution of the organization reveals the greatness of the scope of the aims and objects of the movement. It covers every phase of interest in the affairs of Black Humanity. As the Constitution and By-Laws were read there was a joyful expression on the face of every member. It was marked with the conspicuous absence of any arguments and controversies as is usual in such meetings. With a few minor corrections it was unanimously accepted.
Friday Night Meeting
The Assembly Hall of the Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated 36 West 135th Street was again packed for its regular Friday night meeting. Among those present were Ms. Pratt, Mr. Daniels, and Mrs. Lynch who have had the pleasure of visiting Ethiopia. It was inspiring to hear them tell of the beautiful sight and the possibilities that await the Ethiopians scattered all over the Western Hemisphere.
The meeting was called to order by singing of Ethiopia Awaken.
Chairman
Father Mowbray Blackett, the chairman of the evening said a prayer for steadfastness in all undertakings.
Ethiopians Most Loving of all People
Mr. Daniel, who has been to Ethiopia a speech he delivered in March 1933, telling the Black People in America that Ethiopia needed them and they would be welcomed there at any time. There are great possibilities for them all, he was quite sure that they would all be happy there. The people are not the savages they are painted to be, they are the most loving, loyal and steadfast people. Mr. Daniel urged that vital attention be paid to Dr. Bayen in his work and whole-hearted support be given. He pledged his sincerity and cooperation at all times.
