Whilst others cause mischief; the Executive Council at our own expense has been diligently getting on with the members business of reconstruction. Over the past 10 to 15 years over 45 members of the organization have sought to settle in Ethiopia with no support from those representing in Ethiopia or from various Executive Councils.

Since the UNITY Convention in 2005 we have secured the organisation in New York with the Charities Bureau, New York State Department and Internal revenues service supported by our attorney Keisha Brooks as agent.

Since the Organizers visit we can now declare that Mr Adamu Shiferaw has been appointed with full authority to register the organisation in Ethiopia to carry out our Aims and Objectives including establishing locals for Ethiopians, charitable and tax exempt projects and most importantly PERMITS for our members wishing to return. We will also begin to plan a SHEMAGALI with local chiefs around issues concerning our land grant. Over the next 4 weeks members, units and groups will be consulted as to the best projects we can present in our business plan; also to look at the development of our offices in Kotebe Addis Ababa and Shashemane. A full report and update will be presented at the Convention in Jamaica 2010; give thanks to all the officers and members whose allegiance and support  is to the Constitution and By laws and not with individuals

CERTIFICATION FAILED ATTEMPT

All members and public be notified that an attempt to certify an election; was made by a separate company Ethiopian World Federation Local Number One Incorporated  1996.

The above company along with others attempted to gain from the New York State Supreme Court; Certification for a meeting disguised as the Ethiopian World Federation Incorporated 1937 Convention 2009 held in New York. Part of the plan was to employ a court certified Parliamentarian who was expected to validate an election.

An order has now been issued by Hon Judge Bruce Balter April 6th 2010; in line with what has been previously stated by the Executive Council the said individuals found the situation was not as simple as they had first thought.

The Judge was not willing to grant certification.   The attempt failed because processes were not up to standard and even the Parliamentarian could not give a full endorsement to procedures.

This was an attempt by a group to fraudulently hold themselves out as Local Number One of the Ethiopian World Federation Incorporated 1937 which was and always will be easy to refute.

In order to maintain the integrity and sovereignty of the organisation and for the avoidance of doubt, the Executive Council of the Ethiopian World Federation Incorporated, finds it necessary to publish the following worldwide notice.

Over the past 25 years a small number of persons registered as members, and others outside of the organisation have sought to undermine the organisation and its assets. There have been many examples of fraudulent activity, misrepresentation, unauthorised activity etc.
